Biography
Mr Ahmed Abdelbar is an expert in complex open surgery, minimally invasive gynaecological surgeries, and the early detection of gynaecological cancers. He has provided his services across the gynaecology and gynaecological oncology departments at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Abdelbar qualified and trained at Cairo University Hospital, Egypt, where he obtained an MD degree in the management of placenta accreta spectrum. Ahmed then achieved advanced training in minimal access surgery and gynaecological oncology at Frimley Health and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS foundation trusts. He completed an advanced training skills module in gynaecological oncology, colposcopy, and advanced labour ward practice. In addition, attaining a diploma in minimal invasive gynaecological surgery from the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy.
Ahmed has led on various quality improvement projects within the NHS with his latest project focusing on reducing the waiting list time for gynaecological surgery through innovative approaches in surgical planning.

Mr Ahmed Abdelbar has extensive experience in the detection and treatment of gynaecological cancers, menopause, and minimal access surgery. With a special interest in the early detection and management of early stage gynaecological cancers, and performing key hole surgery for benign and cancerous gynaecological conditions.
