Biography
Dr Giovanni Tritto is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist who has specialist expertise in liver disease.
After earning his medical degree with top honours from the University Federico II (Italy), he embarked on a journey of specialization in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Internal Medicine. His early career in Italy was mainly spent in one of the major liver transplant centres and was marked by a deep commitment to patient care, quality health services and research.
In 2009, he made the pivotal decision to move to London for a sabbatical period of research in liver disease. This transition marked the beginning of a new chapter, where he eventually joined the renowned Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals to continue his mission to improve patient care.
He has since become the lead of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology department, known for his diagnostic acumen, dedication to service quality, and compassionate patient-centred approach. His international background and exposure to diverse medical practices have enriched his communication skills and his ability to manage complex cases effectively and sensibly. He is praised for his comprehensive approach to patient care, combining cutting-edge medical knowledge with a compassionate bedside manner.
