We understand that the cost of private fertility treatment can be a significant financial investment. That’s why our fertility treatment pricing is transparent and honest, with no hidden fees and no unnecessary add-ons.
At the Assisted Conception Unit, our specialist fertility teams will help to build you a personalised treatment plan, tailored to your individual needs.
Your consultant will discuss your care fees during your appointment, after which a quote for your treatment will be provided (subject to results of any pre-assessment tests). Full payment will be required before treatment commences.
Our finance team are on hand to answer any questions you may have around fees, and will guide you through the payment process to make it as clear and easy as possible.
Online payment portal
We offer the option to pay for your treatment easily and securely through our online portal. To discuss alternative payment options, please speak to the fertility customer service team using our enquiry form below.
NHS funded treatment
NHS funding for selected fertility treatments may be available for patients who meet the eligibility criteria set by their local clinical commissioning group (CCG). If you meet this criteria and are referred to us by your GP we can help you start the assessment process for the programme.
NHS fertility treatment eligibility criteria
Each clinical commissioning group has different criteria which will have to be taken into account before considering funding your treatment.
Funding for assisted conception may not be available if:
- either you or your partner already has children
- the female partner is over a certain age or has a BMI over 29
- you have already had NHS funded treatment
How the referral process works
Your GP can refer you for treatment at the Assisted Conception Unit. All patients referred by a GP or hospital will be assessed for NHS funding once an initial registration questionnaire has been returned.
We’ll work with you to complete the necessary documents apply for the NHS funding on your behalf. Ultimately the decision lies with your local clinical commissioning group. It usually takes up to six weeks for a clinical commissioning group in London to respond to your request for funding.
If you are successful and your clinical commissioning group has a contract with us, you may be able to start the process within six weeks (or less) from referral. The number of cycles funded vary according to the clinical commissioning group. Anything from one cycle to three treatments could be funded on the NHS.
Due to high demand for our NHS fertility services there is a waiting list. Our team will advise you on an estimated timeframe for the delivery of your fertility care.
Privately funded fertility treatment
Treatment plans and the subsequent costs are tailored to each individual, and will be discussed with your specialist at initial consultation.
All prices are reviewed regularly. Quotes are valid for a period of 90 days post offer – treatment must be paid in full and commenced in this timeframe.
In the event that your treatment plan needs to be amended, your quoted price may change and additional fees may be charged. All changes will be discussed with you.
Our dedicated patient pathway coordinators will be able to assist with all relevant paperwork, appointment bookings and payments.
Private fertility treatment eligibility criteria
If you are not eligible for NHS treatment, and are considering paying for your own treatment, our Assisted Conception Unit has its own eligibility criteria:
- we can offer treatments to patients up to 50 years of age for consultant-led personalised care and self-funded pathway
- weight (BMI) – less than 35
Patients over the age of 45 are required to have their first appointment with one of our senior consultants. At this appointment, the consultant will discuss your options and advise on the most appropriate treatment pathway which takes into account your individual needs
This criteria is supported by evidence-based medical practice designed to maximise your chances of success. We will not put you through unnecessarily expensive, invasive and stressful treatments if we believe they are highly unlikely to succeed.
